At Ideas Fest, the conversation around ADHD took a refreshing turn, from being seen as a challenge to being recognised as a superpower for entrepreneurs and adventurers. Among those leading the discussion was Nick Hollis, an extreme adventurer and entrepreneur, who shared how ADHD has played a pivotal role in his success.

“ADHD is often discussed as a problem to be fixed,” says Hollis. “So it was great to talk about how it has helped me during my 721 Challenge. When you're on your own, thousands of miles from safety, the sharpened focus that ADHD brings can be a gift.”

Hollis joined a panel with Leanne Maskell and Alex Partridge (founder of LADbible)—both powerhouse entrepreneurs who have used ADHD to their advantage. The discussion explored how traits often associated with ADHD, intense focus, risk-taking, boundless energy, and unconventional thinking, can fuel business success and personal resilience.

What stood outdoor Nick was seeing ADHD thrive in such a wide range of environments. From scaling mountains to scaling businesses, the ability to embrace spontaneity, problem-solve under pressure, and push through adversity can be a competitive advantage.

Ideas Fest continues to champion real stories and meaningful discussions, showcasing how different minds and perspectives contribute to the world of business, adventure, and beyond.
