What Ideas Fest Means to Me
The first time I went to Ideas Fest, I had no idea how much it would change my life. I was feeling stuck. My consultancy business was ticking along, but something felt off. I wanted to do more and have a bigger impact, but I was not sure what that looked like. I was searching for something without even realising it.
Then a friend of mine, Dani Wallace, gave me a ticket to the very first Ideas Fest. It was not the big, polished event it is today. It was a scrappy, passionate, grassroots festival that had been set up alongside a folk festival. I had no expectations at all. I went because I thought, why not? Maybe I would meet some interesting people. Maybe I would just get a break from my usual routine.
I had no idea I was about to have the idea that would change everything.
The Spark That Became Clue
Ideas Fest was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. The energy was incredible. The people, the conversations, the talks – it all made me feel something I had not felt in a long time. Possibility. I sat there watching some of my dream business owners on stage, these incredible, inspiring people who had built brands and movements I admired. Then I did something I always do. I looked them up online.
And what I saw shocked me.
