Sex is one of the most searched topics on the internet. It’s everywhere yet honest and safe conversations about it are still hard to find. As digital platforms redefine how we meet, learn, and make money, who decides what’s acceptable and what crosses the line when it comes to sex?
At Ideas Fest 2025, two women who have been rewriting those rules for years are taking the stage: Cindy Gallop, founder of Make Love Not Porn, and Emma Sayle, founder of Killing Kittens. Their session, Safe Sex Education and Sex Monetisation in a Digital World, promises to be as bold and unfiltered as the women leading it.

The digital age has revolutionised intimacy. Today, apps and online platforms don’t just influence how we meet, they’re redefining sex education and creating new ways to monetise desire.
While opportunities have exploded, so have questions around safety, consent, and ethics. Sex is the one area where we’re more open online, but still deeply uncomfortable talking about it. Despite its omnipresence, sex education is still failing many, especially in a digital context where misinformation and unsafe practices spread faster than facts.
This session isn’t just about education. It’s about empowerment. How do we create online spaces that are not only safe but inclusive? How do entrepreneurs monetise sex-related content responsibly? And how do we change cultural narratives that are still stuck in the dark ages when it comes to sex positivity?
